This garden is a collection of personal projects that was developed by Chauncey Freeman at his childhood home in Junction City, OR. Chauncey first started creating this garden in the fifth grade with his first small pond and a few plantings that are still there today.
As many people experience in life if you are passionate about something you keep wanting to pursue bigger and better. A second pond that is close to 3000 gallons was constructed in early high school and has had koi living in it ever since. Water seemed to be the theme in this Japanese styled space, with three additional water features: a reflection basin, bamboo spout and pyramid meditation area. The plantings have matured into some beautiful specimens, while misplaced plants have been moved serving as an early lesson of scale and selecting the right plant for the right place.
Having grown up working the land, Chauncey has instilled the values of dedication and hard work into Fifth Season. After founding in 2009, Fifth Season has been serving the greater Eugene area with local expertise and sourcing the finest plant material in Oregon.
