The seasonal interest of a garden that is planted specifically to take advantage of the shape, texture, and color of dwarf conifers and maples is a true gem once created. Colors radiate year round as new growth emerges from conifers that are blue, green, and yellow. Among these unique planting are strategic companion plants to create interesting groupings with the larger design.
Custom built features abound in this luxury landscape in Eugene, OR. A serene pool separates the garden from the house and a minimalist hardwood deck reaches outward into the garden inviting the viewer to come out and take a stroll. Simple sand finished concrete patios complete the hardscape spaces that connect to fire features and the garden path.
The front yard, the public face of the garden, foreshadows the themes in the backyard with conifers and similar materials. The main feature of this space is a custom polished concrete fountain illuminated from underneath that is on axis with the glass front door, truly exceptional! Privacy for bedroom windows was also created with frosted glass screens that also double as white canvases for the landscape plants.
